Intermediate Cross Country Team (Grades 5–6)

Fall 2025

Cross country class is a great way for students to discover the joy of running. We’ll focus on running form, proper warm-ups and cool-downs, and building endurance, all while encouraging perseverance and team spirit. Runners will even have the chance to participate in one or two optional cross country meets during the season. Comfortable running shoes are recommended, and don’t forget to bring water each week. A team t-shirt will be available for purchase.

PLEASE NOTE: The original class start date of Aug. 25 has been changed to September 4. No class September 11. The last day of class is now October 9.

Jennifer Powders

Jennifer Powders is a UESCA certified Running Coach, the Jenks Middle School cross country head coach, and a co-head coach for JMS track. Jennifer has been part of the Jenks School District for 10 years working with students from kindergarten to eighth grade. Jennifer has a passion for teaching students to love running. She also loves teaching about fitness, health, and lifelong wellness.
