This course is designed for adults who already have a basic understanding of the Spanish language. You'll need to know some common phrases, words, numbers, and grammar rules to join us. In this intermediate course, we’ll explore all five language skills—listening, speaking, reading, writing, and culture—through fun, hands-on activities and individual practice. Don’t forget to bring a notebook and a pen or pencil. We can’t wait to see you in class!
My name is Sydney Sloat and I am the 5th & 6th grade Spanish teacher at Jenks West Intermediate. I graduated from the University of Tulsa in 2022 and am certified to teach grades K-8th and Spanish in Oklahoma. I have been teaching for 2 and a half years. I decided to teach Spanish classes through Community Education to foster a love of learning the Spanish language with students of all ages. I really enjoy teaching Spanish because I had the best Spanish teachers growing up who helped me better understand the beauty and structure of the language. After taking this course, I hope that students will take away a deeper level of understanding and interest in the Spanish language to enhance their cultural knowledge of the world around us. Together we can take on learning the Spanish language together!
