Are you ready to take your pickleball game to the next level? This class is perfect for those who have mastered the basics and are eager to learn advanced skills. Students can expect plenty of drilling and playing during each session. Please bring your own paddles, and we’ll provide the balls. To take this class, you must:
1. Know basic pickleball rules and how to keep score 2. Almost always try to play at the no volley zone, rather than staying at the baseline. 3. Have mastered reliable serving. 4. Have a good degree of athletic ability, including to be able to hit where you aim. 5. Be capable of hitting three or four dinks in a row.

We started playing pickleball around 2016 with no instruction for the first three or four years. We learned to play the old-fashioned way: trial and error or try and fail until you figure it out.
When we began teaching this class in 2021, there was no place that offered more than one hour of beginner instruction. You could attend those classes as often as you wanted but were taught the same thing each time. Our class offers eight hours of instruction, with emphasis on safety, rules, terminology, and exposure to the skills needed to begin playing the game we love. We emphasize safety in our classes because in our experience, a lot of injuries are a result of beginners not knowing their limitations or how to play the game properly.
2024 is the fourth year we have taught this class and by year-end we are proud to say we will have taught almost 1,000 players. It is rewarding to meet past students who have gone on to become competitive pickleball players.
