Susan is currently in her ninth year of teaching K-12 art within the Tulsa area. She is certified to teach PK-12 art in Oklahoma, but first found her love for art education while working at the Brentwood Arts Exchange in Brentwood, Maryland. This gallery experience was deeply formative to Susan as both a K-12 public school art educator and a community art educator.
Susan decided to teach with Jenks Community Education because she has missed being a part of the community education system. Susan is thrilled to be in a role that allows her to teach both K-12 and community art.
Susan hopes that artists of all backgrounds and ability levels will feel welcome in her classes. She is passionate in her belief that there is a place in the creative realm for all who wish to pursue art. Susan hopes students will take new knowledge and skills with them from her course as well as new friends and memories.
