Online AttendanceOur online summer school curriculum requires a student to be self-motivated, driven, and dedicated in order to be successful. Students who enroll in an online course must submit all projects by the assigned dates, if not earlier. Online progress will be monitored on a daily basis.Online Summer School Rules1. Students caught cheating or plagiarizing will receive a zero on their module at the first occurrence. On the second occurrence, the student will be dismissed from summer school without refund. If you need more information on what constitutes plagiarism, please review this resource.2. Students must have a passing grade average to take the final exam for the semester course.3. Students who log into a course will not be eligible for a refund.4. Students not making adequate progress will have a virtual conference with the teacher and a phone call will be made to parents.5. Students will not be permitted to take the final exam unless they have successfully completed all assignments for the course.6. The final exam for online courses must be completed by ? on June 30.In Person AttendanceSummer school attendance is critical for student success. Due to the self-paced nature of the curriculum, students with poor attendance may be in jeopardy of not being able to complete a course. Therefore, our attendance policy requires a student NOT to be absent more than 10 hours of class. Students who exceed 10 hours without PRIOR notification, will be dropped from summer school and will not be eligible for a refund.In Person Summer School Rules1. Students caught attempting to take unapproved materials out of the classroom will be dismissed from summer school without refund at the first occurrence. Modules are to stay in the instruction room and are not to be copied.2. Students caught cheating or plagiarizing will receive a zero on their module at the first occurrence. Backpacks are not needed or allowed in summer school. Only pen or pencil and Chromebooks are required for students.4. Students must have a passing grade average to take the final exam for the semester course.5. Students who attend class for at least one session will not be eligible for a refund.6. Students coming to summer school and not making appropriate progress will have a conference with the teacher and a phone call will be made to parents.7. There will be no loitering in the building or outside in the parking lots. Students must stay for the entire session unless written documentation is provided in advance to a summer school principal.8. Students must be on time for a session. Students who arrive late will not be allowed into class and must go home.9. On the final day of each summer school semester (Thursday, June 12 and Monday, June 30), students will only be allowed to take final exams. The final exam for all classes will begin at 8:00am.10. Students absent from more than 10 hours of class will be removed from summer school without a refund.11. Students who do not meet the minimum number of submissions for the week may be removed from summer school without a refund.12. Students will not be permitted to take the final exam unless they have successfully completed all assignments for the course.Report Cards - Student and School CopiesReport cards for both in-district and out of district students will be mailed to the home address provided at registration. Grades for non-JPS students will also be sent to the school's guidance office after classes have ended.Student drop off and pick up informationBuses do not run during Summer School. You are responsible for providing transportation to and from Jenks High School. Students must be picked up by 1:15 Monday-Friday unless other arrangements have been made. All students should enter through the lobby of the Math and Science Building. All other doors will remain locked and inaccessible during Summer School hours for the safety of both students and staff. Jenks Community Education Summer School AgreementCancellations: If an in-person class does not get the minimum number of enrollments, the class will be cancelled, and students will have the option of being transferred to an online class. Full refunds will be available for any students whose in-person classes were cancelled if they do not wish to proceed with an online class.Refund Policy: Refunds will be honored through May 28 and will be sent within two weeks of cancellation. There is a $25 withdrawal fee per semester for cancellations. However, if students enroll for a make-up credit class and find out later that they pass the class, the withdrawal fee will be waived and the $5 processing fee will be refunded.Participation Waiver: I hereby release Jenks Community Education and any other organizations, or individuals associated with this program from any responsibility for injuries or damages that I may sustain as a result of my participation. In the case of participation by a minor less than 18 years of age, a parent or guardian must agree and sign where appropriate.Online courses:Students will receive an informational email from their teacher with instructions on how to access their online courses before the first day class begins May 28.Students must have all online coursework completed by Monday, June 30 at 12:00 noon in order to take finals.NO EXTENSIONS WILL BE GIVEN.
