Beginning Crochet (Ages 16–Adult)

Enrichment for Adults and Families / All Summer Programs / Arts & Crafts -
Summer 2026

Get ready to relax, create, and celebrate summertime! In this fun, hands-on class, students will make colorful frog coasters, craft a scrubby washcloth using specialty yarn, and create a simple yet charming potholder. Along the way, the instructor will share some of her own creative projects to inspire new ideas and show just how enjoyable it can be to make handmade gifts for friends, family—or yourself.

A $20 cash supply fee will be collected by the instructor at the first class covers the cost of hooks and yarn that students will keep.

Alecia Freistedt

After learning crochet from Jenks, I continued using that knowledge to make gifts for friends and family, and even for coworkers. I have a sweet kitty named Ciel that I've made cat toys and a bed! I’ve also made clothing that I wear on a day-to-day basis! There's so much expression in making your own crafts and showing them to others. For me there's no crochet item I won't try to make! And therefore, nothing I can't make! So much joy and creativity come from crocheting for you, your family, and even your furry friends!
