Along the way, we will teach swim survival skills to help build confidence and safety in and around the water. At the start of the session, we will skill-test each child to make sure they are placed in the appropriate level. Skill Level Descriptions
Parent/Child: Generally for little swimmers ages 1 to 3 years. We do welcome older children who can benefit from this class as an intro to lessons. Parent/Child teams work together in a low-pressure, guided intro to basic swim and water safety skills.
Level 1: Ages 5–14. Introductory level “splashers”. Students are ready for Level 1 when they can function in a class setting with parents watching from the deck. We focus on comfort, listening in a group setting, safe entries, bubbles/submersion, and learning to float and move short distances with growing confidence.
Level 2: Ages 5–14. Beginner swimmers. Students are ready for Level 2 if they are able to submerge without help, float with little or no support, and doggy paddle a short distance. We will work on submerging up to 10 seconds, swim/float/swim, and other beginning swim survival skills.
Level 3: Ages 5–14. Beginner to intermediate swimmers ready to level up endurance and technique. We build stronger front/back skills, introduce breathing skills for stroke swimming, and expand safety skills like deeper-water confidence, treading, and more purposeful underwater movement.
Level 4: Ages 5–14. Advanced swimmers. For confident swimmers ages 8-14 who can jump into deep water, resurface, and swim pool lengths independently. We set and build upon freestyle/backstroke/breaststroke foundations, introduce competition skills like racing starts and turns, and strengthen survival skills.
Level 5: Ages 5–14. Swim Team Prep, level 4 skills recommended. This class is a great intro to the world of competitive swim. We develop racing starts, turns, and technique in all four competitive strokes, plus more sustained swimming and conditioning-style skills.
Adult Beginner: Never learned—or want a true reset? This class is designed to meet you where you are, focusing on comfort, breath control, floating, and simple, repeatable skills that make the water feel safe and manageable.
Adult Intermediate: This is a great class for adults who are interested in fine-tuning swim skills for a variety of reasons. We work with triathletes, Masters Swimmers, adults interested in adding lap swim to their workout routine, and more!
